Documents & Contracts

Pre-populate linked Contract fields from Contact/Opportunity before signing
Problem: In Contracts, “linked” fields only write back after signing. Senders cannot pre-populate those inputs with existing Contact/Opportunity data. This forces recipients to re-type info we already have, increases friction and errors, and makes the experience inconsistent with Forms (which support sticky/prefill patterns). Why this matters: Lower friction & faster completion: Fewer keystrokes → higher completion rates and better mobile UX. Data accuracy: Using CRM as the source of truth reduces typos and mismatches. Consistency: Aligns Contracts with Forms behavior (sticky/prefill), and with CRM merge fields that already render data. Advanced use cases: Service businesses with multiple jobs per customer need Opportunity-level data to prefill job-specific contracts (amounts, dates, locations). Requested behavior: When a fillable field is “linked” to a Contact or Opportunity value, auto-populate the input on open with the current CRM value. Allow toggles per field: Prefill + Editable (default) or Prefill + Read-only. Support Opportunity and Company fields everywhere merge values are supported. Preserve existing write-back on completion (so edits still sync if allowed). Allow prefill via URL parameters or workflow actions when generating the contract (advanced templates). Benefits: Reduced abandonment, fewer errors, and a more professional e-signature experience; no need for brittle workarounds mixing merge text with separate inputs.

Some simple and easy UX and styling fixes for Document and Contracts feature
The documents and contracts feature is really good for something built in. But after creating a couple of templates there are some easy fixes to styling, text formatting, custom field/value handling and branding that could make it better. (I could make separate feedbacks, but these all feel related to styling.) These fixes seem really simple to do and will make the feature that much better. There is no way to make the template use a Brand Board. So you have to constantly fix text and heading font, size, colour/color, etc. Always falls back to Open Sans 16px black text, sometimes randomly after you have set it to something else in the block. Use the branding board! :) Heading styles cannot be centred, so you end up just using text styles only. Perhaps have a heading widget and allow it to be centred/right aligned. The highlighting of custom fields/values and fillable fields doesn't take into account the background image or colour, or the colour of the rest of the text of the document. It can be unreadable with branding backgrounds. The fillable fields have no styling. If you have a coloured background they can be hard or impossible to see, and not fit with the rest of the document. Advanced tab for colour setting on any background doesn't work, the settings sidebar just closes. No option to overlay a colour on a page with an image so that you can tint it. No helpful snapping for positioning of fillable fields, especially signatures, to make sure they are the same position and size, etc.
