Make Custom Fields Lockable (At An Individual Level)

There should be an option to make certain custom fields lockable once information has been input (manually or through an automation).
There are a lot of use cases for this but the most obvious one for me is to lock the custom attribution fields we have created (not the standard GHL ones) so that this information cannot be updated after it is entered.
In my use case we track both first and last attribution and I want the "first" fields to be locked once info have been input so that no team member or automation can update this after the fact.
The reason the this is important is that:
A. I want accurate data, and...
B. I want to make sure no team member can edit these as my team are compensated on commission based on where the lead was originally generated from.
If you would like any further info on this shoot me a message and I will happily get on a call to walk the team through my personal use case.

Would love to see the ability to lock custom fields as read only, this way a GHL user can view the data in the field but not accidentally change it. This becomes important if custom field data is generated and/or updated from a third party app and sent by a webhook. For example a custom field of QuickBooks_Client_ID. This should allow a GHL user to view this item but never be able to update the value. However, if Quickbooks updated this value, then it should be able to call the webhook and update the custom field value.
Attached is an example screenshot of how I envision it looking to the GHL user setting up custom fields.
Thank you for the consideration.

A feature like this would elevate High Level to be taken seriously as a CRM.

Lockable and restricted access to fields for sensitve information would be amazing. As an accountant I collect a lot of details on my clients that I need to truly help them and do the work that they need. However, I don't necessarily want very many staff members to have access to that information. Typically, only the manager for that specific client and myself, not bookkeepers, not sales staff, etc. Because that's how fraud happens.
As I scale my business, it's impossible to make sure that every employee is handling sensitive info in the way we intend, even though I am on top of trainings, sops, etc. I'd love for a software to be able to do this for me so I don't have to worry.
Outside of accounting, I think this would be helpful in other industries with data breaches becoming so prevalent. In accounting and similar industries there are now laws about this with significant penalties, so I'm always on the lookout for how to keep our data safe and confidential. It's a huge concern.
To use high level in the way I'd like, it would become our client database. And because of the great functionality with the custom fields, I'm able to pass off information and slice and dice it in ways that all the other softwares I've used promise to do, but fall waaaaay short on. Ideally, I want to keep any sensitive information as secure as possible by locking access to the field except for certain roles or in instances when we pass that information off to a specific form or document. Otherwise, I want to have that information on lockdown.
I'm pretty sure that none of the other softwares, even the accounting specific ones do this or do it well. But I'd love to be able to tell my clients that we are "on it" and ahead of the curve!

Dannielle Spencer Is there a solution to this issue yet? I'm new to GHL and I'm setting up my system for my team but I dont want them to be able to update a field such as "Lead Source" in the event it was created from a form submission for example.

Dannielle Spencer 100% I think there Should be edit, view only or hide. Some clients want to hide certain custom fields from certain users or permission profile roles.

We are in the same situation and need some fields lockable so the sales people working the leads cannot make changes

We're in a similar situation and need lockable fields as well! Thanks for implementing as soon as possible :)

Yes, we have a custom field for sent estimates that we'd like certain employees not be able to access but see the rest of the details for that contact/oppertunity.
