Differentiating between available & unavailable slots on the calendar
J
Justyn Berkovits
Currently when you view the Calendar, everything appears with a white background, regardless of your availability, your staffs availability or your calendars availability for bookings.
This is majorly problematic when viewing the calendar at a glance. The simple addition of having unavailable times being in a different colour would improve the calendar 10-fold.
This is something that many other calendar softwares, such as Acuity, have.
I've attached a screenshot of how it looks in Acuity and a quick mockup of how it could look in GHL. This would be a game changer for the calendar, especially when you have multiple reps who are booking appointments into your teams calendars.

🛠️ Enhancement Request: Visually Show Taken Time Slots in Calendar to Signal "Busy"
A
Alan Ristić
📝Summary
Enhance the prospect-facing calendar UI by visibly showing unavailable (already taken) time slots instead of simply hiding them. This subtle UX enhancement adds psychological triggers of urgency and scarcity, improving booking conversion for users who want to appear in-demand.
Current Behavior (BEFORE)
Unavailable/taken time slots are hidden.
❌ The calendar only shows remaining available times.
❌ No visual signal that other slots have been taken.
❌ Prospect cannot tell how “busy” the calendar is.
❌ No urgency or scarcity is triggered.
Suggested Behavior (AFTER)
☑️ Show unavailable/taken time slots as visible but struck-through, greyed out, or otherwise marked (similar to what’s shown in Calendar Debugger).
☑️ Add option to turn this off in Calendar Settings (near "Look Busy" setting)
☑️ This allows the calendar to look busy and signal demand.
☑️ Prospect sees "these times were available, but are now gone," which subtly pushes them to book before other slots disappear.
☑️ Clearer framing of availability—"this is what’s left" instead of "this is all there is."
BENEFITS
💪 Boosts perceived demand and scarcity → better conversions.
💪 Helps businesses look in-demand (a form of social proof).
💪 Adds psychological friction in the right direction: "I’d better book now."
💪 Uses UI already available in Calendar Debugger (strikethrough style), so it's feasible.

I’d love to see this as a native option in GHL. Happy to further clarify or provide examples. 🤟 PLEASE UPVOTE.

User unavailablity blacked out - easily see availability on daily calendar for each user

Would be amazing if we could just look at the calendar daily view and see the actual availability for each staff/user at a glance, we use ghl calender for our booking system for indoor golf simulator business and do lessons etc, our staff have to open up the bookings to see when users are available instead of just looking at the day and seeing the availability - see attached image - we would love to just look at the daily view and tell customers in 1 second what time someone can do lessons - the blocked out slots are manual block outs not unavailable times - if the white space was another colour we could easily tell customers ben or jordan etc is not available. Cheers
