Assign Time Zone for the event when creating the event vs. using the user. I have events in multiple time zones and have to manually convert everytime vs. choosing the time zone the event will occur in. This also creates issues with local time zones for daylight savings etc.

This is definitely an issue - as it causes an issue when a user adds an event to their calendar - it shows up in the wrong time zone causing confusion. I put in a ticket and the Dev team felt it as a "feature" not a must have. It is a must have as we have had clients frustrated with us to try to show up to a training and they show up at the wrong time.

You are SO correct. This is an issue that has held back this world class CRM since the beginning. It seems they are not willing to fix it which is a shame. It's worthy of a fix. This isn't a "wish list" item. It's a basic necessity that should have been addressed a long time ago. I am about ready to lose a customer because of this single issue.
