We currently allow users to build as many courses as they want, but this often results in a cluttered, overwhelming library of content. Learners struggle to find the right courses, especially when different roles require specific learning paths. We need a solution that provides a more intuitive, role-based learning experience. This can be achieved by allowing us to group courses into categories or folders and assign specific courses to multiple categories without duplicating them.
The Problem:
• Overwhelming Course Library: With unlimited course creation, we end up with a huge library that lacks clear structure. Users can feel lost, not knowing which course to start with or which ones are most relevant to them.
• No Role-Based Learning Paths: Different roles in an organization—such as Sales, Admin, or Operations—require distinct learning paths. However, there’s no current way to guide users based on their role, leading to inefficiencies in learning.
• Course Duplication: Some courses, like CRM basics, are relevant to multiple departments. But creating duplicates for each category (e.g., Sales, Admin, Operations) is unnecessary and cumbersome.
The Solution:
We propose adding the ability to group courses into categories or folders. This would allow users to view only the courses relevant to their role or learning path, making the learning experience much more focused and efficient. Furthermore, a single course should be assignable to multiple categories (e.g., both Sales and Admin), avoiding the need for course duplication.
Use Case Example:
Imagine an academy where Sales, Admin, and Operations teams each have their own set of learning paths. The CRM Basics course is crucial for all three, but instead of creating three different versions, we simply assign that course to all three categories. Now, when the Sales team accesses their course category, they see only the courses tailored to their needs, including CRM Basics. The same goes for Admin and Operations, ensuring everyone gets the right training without unnecessary clutter.
Benefits:
• Enhanced Learning Paths: Learners can easily follow structured paths relevant to their role.
• Improved User Experience: Simplified navigation ensures users don’t waste time searching through irrelevant content.
• No Duplication: One course, multiple categories, no redundant copies.
• Flexible Content Organization: Courses can be categorized for role-based access or broader learning objectives.
Conclusion:
Implementing course grouping and multi-category functionality would be a game-changer for our platform. It would greatly enhance the learning experience, reduce confusion, and make content management far more efficient. I’ve created a video outlining this in more detail, showcasing a visual example of what I’m proposing.
Please take a moment to review this proposal and vote in favor of moving this enhancement forward. It’s a small change that could have a big impact on how we deliver learning.

This is so important. It also allows us people who create a ton of learnings and courses the ability to organize by tag/category. This helps us meet course takers where they are. They pay for an overall membership with access to all of our courses, they can pick and choose which ones to take.

This is definitely required as those with membership programs and adding new courses weekly or even monthly have start to build a library. The ability to group courses, even into categories would be excellent.
