We don't need to record phone calls most of the time. It would be nice to have the default setting for call recording off but be able to start recording during a phone call if needed.

Same issue here. Had a client in healthcare who couldn't use recordings at all because of this. Even just defaulting to off with a record button would fix most compliance headaches.

The compliance angle is key here. We've had to turn off recording entirely for some clients because of this. Even just a simple pause button would solve so many headaches.

I have been asking for this for two years, especially if you take sensitive information. if other companies can pause calls when taking bank details why cant we.

When someone says “I don’t want to be recorded,” we should be able to pause the recording immediately. Please add a pause button on the dial pad for compliance. This is critical for legal and trust reasons.

Agreed. We have team members with legally sensitive calls and sales team calls that need to be monitored. Being able to Start Stop or Pause recordings would give us the flexibility and compliance we need for both departments.
