Integrating a phone system other than Lead Connector/Twilio

We use and resell our own hosted phone service, based on Voiceflex. We obviously want to use this phone system in conjunction with GoHighLevel instead of the default LeadConnector/Twilio phone system.
One brute force would be to obtain numbers on the LeadConnector system and setting up diverts to and from our numbers. This would mean effectively paying twice for phone calls.
I see you have an incoming webhook to accept incoming calls and call status for Twilio that avoids LC phone. (https://help.gohighlevel.com/support/solutions/articles/155000002824-setting-up-webhooks-to-receive-incoming-calls-messages-and-status-updates-for-calls-for-twilio-user)
Would it be possible to do something similar for Voiceflex API call record data? Failing that where could I find the format of the API calls GHL receive so I could create something that could convert the Voiceflex API call to a format the webhook would recognise.
Would it be possible to set up something similar to work from call records for outgoing calls as well?
With this it would be necessary add the capability to set a flag for the phone fields on GHL to open the phone app on the computer like href='tel:' on web pages.
The ability to use a third party phone system and pass the call records to GHL via API would be a massive draw for companies like mine who want to sell GHL alongside our existing Hosted phone system.

Edit: And then I found the 'Inbound Webhook' trigger and 'Log External Call' action. Premium trigger is worth it for the functionality.
Could still do with the ability to set phone fields to 'click to call' the default phone application on the computer rather than making the call via LC Call.
