🚨 Stripe Invoice Creation for One-Time Products
H
Hide MyName
GHL checkout sessions for one-time products do not generate invoices in Stripe, unlike recurring subscriptions. This causes major issues with invoicing, accounting, and compliance.
Stripe allows invoice creation for one-time Checkout Sessions by setting:
"invoice_creation.enabled = true" (https://docs.stripe.com/api/checkout/sessions/create?lang=python#create_checkout_session-invoice_creation-enabled)
Please allow automatic Stripe invoice creation for one-time products, either:
👉🏼 By default (matching subscriptions), or
👉🏼 Via a toggle in the settings.
Why This Matters
- Proper invoices & receipts in Stripe
- Fixes accounting and reconciliation issues
- Critical for EU / Germany VAT compliance
- Eliminates manual, unaccurate workarounds

We absolutely need that. It would be amazing if we would also be able to control what Highlevel sends to stripe. Missing of Automated Tax (by stripe) is also an issue.

Dominik BlĂĽmel I honestly do not understand how businesses in the EU are operating with GHL. It is not compliant and my accountant doesn't want me to use it. A proper solution for compliant invoicing is desperately needed.

Hide MyName In some cases GHL Invoices can be compliant, of you set it up properly. But if your are working if B2B it's not, we need tax automation for international B2B invoices and a special invoice format (for machine reading) for B2B invoices within Germany. At the moment Stripe is one of only a few payment companies which can do that properly (with some settings) and it can be triggered via the API, I use it in some cases with an Stripe App (that's only half working, I have to use Zapier or make to fully use it) and I don't get why we are not allowed to use stripe invoicing and tax automations, it's just a setting needed in the existing Stripe integration.

Dominik BlĂĽmel Yes, in Germany for B2B an invoice is mandatory. In GHL for one-time purchases only a payment receipt is being created in stripe. And stripe has no idea about the line items (tax, coupons, ...) for that payment, which makes it very difficult to create an automated, accurate (paid) invoice for these purchases within stripe. And in GHL only unpaid invoices can be created, which is another issue...

Hide MyNameThere are possible solutions for that, you can reputpose the Receipt from GHL as invoice, it's not perfect, but with a little bit of effort it's compliant for B2C

Dominik BlĂĽmel Yes, I've created a stripe automation for that. Also been experimenting with Make/Zapier for proper invoicing for the past few weeks. Would you be up for a quick 15min call to share/compare workarounds for this? I'm from Germany as well. (voyehef549@ixospace.com)
