I would love the ability to have fully customized layouts.
Think, the new contracts feature, where you upload a PDF then drag and drop your dynamic fields as required. The link below is a similar feature from ServiceM8:

Automotive shops need invoice templates built for the real workflow of the industry. A modern invoice should allow us to scan a VIN and automatically populate the vehicle’s Year, Make, Model, Trim, and Color, eliminating manual entry and reducing errors. Shops also need the ability to display VIN, stock number, and full vehicle information directly next to each service line item, so customers clearly see what work was performed on which vehicle.
This isn’t just a convenience — it’s essential for accuracy, compliance, and professional presentation. With more shops using digital inspections, service menus, and automated workflows, having a VIN‑aware invoice system is a must. The ability to scan a VIN, decode it instantly, and have the invoice auto‑fill all vehicle details would streamline operations and create a far more polished customer experience.

Merged in a post:
All invoice elements should be customizable and the email template for invoices as well

Invoicing should be optimized by allowing all elements of the invoice to be changed manually. I use GHL in English because the translation into German is miserable and as a result the invoices are also formulated in English. If you set the platform language to German, the elements are also displayed in German, except for the date format!
It should also be possible to customize the email that is sent when the invoice is created and save it as template. This looks much more like a scam..

I wonder if I suggested AI invoices this might actually get done

Need Help: Automating Invoice Amount from Opportunity Value After Contract Signed (GHL)
I’m running into a wall with HighLevel automation and hoping someone (maybe an admin) can clarify if this is possible or if I’m missing something.
What I’m trying to do:
I want a workflow that sends an invoice automatically after a customer signs a contract, and I want the invoice amount to match the Opportunity Value from the opportunity card.
Current setup:
• Workflow 1 → sends contract
• Customer signs
• Workflow 2 (trigger: Document Signed) → sends invoice
The problem:
Every time the invoice sends, it pulls from the invoice template and sends with $0, instead of using the Opportunity Value. From what I can tell, invoices seem to require preset product pricing.
The challenge:
My business doesn’t have fixed pricing — every event is different (one client might be $1,250, another $3,175, etc.), so preset product pricing or static invoice templates don’t really work for us. I’m also aware I can manually create/send the invoice, but that defeats the purpose of building this automation in the first place.
What I’m trying to figure out:
• Is there any way to have an automated invoice pull the Opportunity Value amount?
• If not, what workaround are agencies using for businesses with variable pricing?
Goal is fully automated:
Contract signed → invoice sent automatically → correct amount (no manual edits).
Would really appreciate any insight if someone has solved this 🙏

It would be great if invoices allowed more flexibility around billing details, specifically:
Separate Bill To Company Name
Separate Bill To Contact Name
Ability to clearly add and display ABN
More control over how these fields appear on the invoice
This is a big issue for Australian clients.
Many businesses here require:
Legal entity name (company)
Trading name (sometimes different)
Contact person
ABN clearly displayed for tax compliance
Right now the limitations create friction with bookkeeping, BAS reporting, and client approvals.
Would love to see improved invoice customisation for Australian compliance and business requirements.

Is there any progress on this? - it would be good to at least be able to set column widths on invoice/estimates as the default layout gives too much space to some columns at the expense of the description column.

While you're at it, please make invoices compliant in the EU. For each product/payment link, we
must
issue an invoice and taxes need to be calculated correctly (reverse charge, B2C/B2B, VAT number, ...). Selling products (compliant) from the EU is not possible at the moment!> Letting Stripe handle this would be the easiest solution for both, I assume.
