Forms and Surveys Auto-populate contact details when clicked from GHL email

it seems like a miss that forms and survey links sent from a GHL created email do not auto-connect the information to the contact who clicked the link.
It would be helpful if a form would auto-populate so that we can receive form and survey responses to the contact without having to add contact fields and risk the contact using a different email or information creating a separate contact record.

You can link a contract to a form by using:
?contact_id={{contact.id}}
as a query string in the url.

You can then disable the feature where it automatically matches contacts via email or phone number.
It took me also a while to find this feature. GoHighLevel should spread this information more widely or indicate it within the software in my opinion.

Silvio Kirsammer If I send contactID, will that pull all fields that are in the form or do I need to send each field in the URL that I want populated?

Josh Henry This won't populate the fields but you don't have to ask for email/phone again to associate the contact. My assumption was that you want to associate a form with a contract, by auto populating email. With this method this is not necessary anymore.
The query string will associate the form to the Contact, when the contact came from an Email, an other form or anywhere else with a contract association. This for example also works when you have multiple forms/surveys after another. You just have to use the query string in every url leading to the next page or form.

Silvio Kirsammer yes, I played with it a bit yesterday and was able to wrap my head around how its setup and have a better idea now. I just wish this was native in GHL and not something that has to be added to the URL and you have to know where to find it.

Wait it really doesn’t do this?
Can we at least use url parameters to fill in the form? (I know that’s not ideal for ever link in emails)
