We really need the ability to create and customize an order number system for each store.
Ideally, store owners should be able to:
  • Set their own order number format (prefix, suffix, starting number, etc.)
  • Have that order number show up consistently across: Order details inside the system, Order confirmation emails, Packing slips / invoices
Also, it would be important that customers only receive one clear confirmation email that includes all the necessary details, such as:
  • Order number
  • Order details
  • Contact info (name, email, phone)
  • Shipping details
  • Billing details
  • Payment gateway used
This is especially important for anyone selling physical products, since warehouses and factories rely on structured order numbers for tracking and fulfillment.
Right now, not having this makes things harder than they should be and doesn’t really match how most ecommerce systems work.
