Custom Fields to Dashboard

It would be great if we could use the custom fields in the dashboard, the same as we are doing now for the opportunity fields.
For example, if I have a numeric field under the contact section, it would be great if we could do the sum of the field and display it on the dashboard, the same as we are doing for the value in the opportunity.

This is now live — numeric and monetary custom fields on Contacts (and Opportunities) can be summed and displayed on dashboards, the same way Opportunity Value works today. Also available in custom reports and the Custom Metric module.
