Outlook to Actually Two-Way Sync in Conversations like Gmail does

I just lost an affiliate client to this feature.
There are two parts to this request.
- Make it clear upfront in the marketing and in the dashboard that Outlook users with custom domains must set up MX records for conversations to work properly. Simply using the default Leadconnector domain only allows outgoing emails. It took us 4 weeks to learn we had to do this just to get replies to come into the conversations tab.
- The conversations tab needs to be able to accept inbound emails from leads. This works fine with the Gmail integration, but does not work with the Outlook integration. For my client, whose company uses Outlook, this was a dealbreaker, since for him, the CRM was the thing he needed most. We didn't discover this until yesterday (6 weeks after signing up), and that's when he asked for a refund.
There was also another issue where every time he sent an outgoing email, it would be "unsuccessful". Reconnecting the Outlook account didn't resolve this. But clicking the little red arrow every time did. However, because of his laptop screen size, the sent messages were above the fold of the email composer, so he couldn't see that his emails weren't going out until he checked back later, wondering why his customers weren't receiving his emails (see screenshot).
This unsyncing issue may also have impacted the ability for conversations to function appropriately.
I also notice there's a 3MB limit on attachments and larger attachments would prevent syncing. We didn't get far enough for him to send attachments, but this would have been another obstacle to his success since he sends image-heavy product PDFs to his clients that are larger than that size as part of his sales process.
I know everyone here is doing their best. I'd love to see this worked out since a lot of folks in my audience use Outlook, and I wouldn't feel comfortable selling this to them until it's sorted out.
I hope this is helpful!

Definitely need this. I've been spending the last week trying to figure out how to get our mail sync'ed to GHL. We have very basic POP3/SMTP (not Exchange or Workspace) that can be accessed using IMAP. We MUST have a way to link our sales reps' emails with their CRM records.
That could be a plugin in Outlook app or something fancier, but the easier it is for our reps, the better so we have higher rates of compliance in terms of their mail actually being appended to the record in the CRM.
In short, don't really care how you do it, as long as our one-off emails (not bulk) are easily sync'ed with GHL CRM records appropriately.

Is there any update on when this is coming? It's been marked as planned since August but as far as I know nothing has changed yet??

This is a major issue for us to keep tracking our conversation even when the client send us the message and we can't see it on the conversation so that make we lost the deal - WHY this thead still be slient!

Core Platform - This is slated to be ready this week, right? I was told the end of this quarter.

Matt Barbey - I am surprised as well that this issue have not been resolved. The Email conversation feature in GHL is not that great, so using Outlook for all communications while still syncing it to the CRM would be an awesome and needed feature.

Outlook is used by most businesses, it's more popular than Google Workspace / Gmail.
We also recently lost a client who then asked for a refund because the Outlook sync doesn't:
- Sync all incoming email, only the ones started from within the subaccount.
- Doesn't have Auto-BCC Sync functionality like Gmail has
- CC doesn't work.
Please give Outlook or Office 365 users the attention it deserves. Thank you.

yes this would be a major upgrade, right now it's not a real two way sync like Google is! Please fix this issue ASAP.

I'm 98% consdiering leaving because of the false advertising and inferior '2 way synching'. It isn't and I'd never have pruchased if I'd known that. It's a clunky workaround, not a 2 way synch which is a standard feature for MS OUtlook in most other CRMs.

Yeah this has been a major issue with my clients. Outlook based and it's a deal breaker from them. I had sold them on the outlook integration and it's failed miserably. It's not like the Gmail integration.

I've asked in many different ways through various channels about best practice around setting up and tracking e-mails but been over a month with no response. Didn't realise tracking fresh inbound emails was possible with gmail! I've set up as a MS reseller to provide 365/outlook as part of my offering only to find this functionality was limited so glad to here there's improvements on the way.
Any idea of timescales guys?
Also, any chance of publishing a support article on best practices for handling emails (tracking fresh leads, responding as an individual, e-mail campaigns using a dedicated replies. subdomain and automated responses coming from donotreply etc). Been struggling with all of the above!
