Integrate Third Party Phone Systems such as GoToConnect or RingCentral - Improve API To Add Conversations

Idea: let us use a third party, dedicated phone system such as GoToConnect or RingCentral to place and receive all calls (and texts) - and integrate that with Go High Level. This will give you world class phone features, such as caller ID integration, advanced call routing and multidevice support (not to mention unllimited calls and free texting). As it stands, the conversation view in Go High Level will not include any calls made on our desk phone system, and there is no way to link them via the API.Unless you only use the soft phone to make all outbound lead and customer calls, currently the Go High Level customer conversation will only show the inbound calls, which makes it very limited.Extending the Go High Level API would fix this. For example, we use GoToConnect by LogMeIn. That system allows unlimited texts and calls and has an API to access the full call history. If you extended the Go High Level API to allow us to add conversations (phone and text) from other systems, it would be fairly straightforward to bring all of the information into Go High Level, regardless of which system actually was used. (If you can extend the API, I would be happy to write the integration and share it.)Note - this would also let you keep your existing phone numbers and skip Twilio altogether. It's simple to port numbers to GoToConnect (we did). You could use GoToConnect to make and receive all texts and calls, even to record them, and then they could be linked to Go High Level via this improved API.I get that Go High Level wants to be a "one stop shop" but without an extended API you are ending up with a mediocre version of everything and no way to integrate "best of breed" tools for those that want them. All we need is a few extra nodes on the API to post new phone and text conversations and, ideally, associate a WAV file recording.

The phone system was designed to be additional revenue -- "a walled garden" approach. Meaning if you want a great phone integration there is only one reasonable option. And it will always be that way, because GHL will make sure of it.
GHL can do what they want on this, but spinning it out and having it compete toe to toe with GoTo, RingCentral, etc might be a good option, but also the death of any rapid development.
Until then we are all in a tough spot... where we can't have both a great integration and a great phone system. We have to choose between the two.

I don't think this is solely up to GHL. Third-party's need to put in the development investment too. Will GoTo make that investment with a competitor? (LeadConnector)
GHL has started dev of its own phone system, and if iLeadConnector is going to be a real phone system it needs to start rapid development and develop it in a way that it operates independent of GHL crm while still being integrated... as if LeadConnector itself was a third-party solution. That is undoubtedly the best way to design LeadConnector.
I have a client that moved from a traditional phone system to LeadConnector and it has been a huge pain. LeadConnector phone system is still not a serious project. No connection to desktop phones like polycom + no way to transfer calls between users + you have to remember to be logged in in order to get calls + phone calls require you to be logged into an individual location and thereby miss all calls for all other locations (a massive design blunder by GHL, which is in line with GHLs unwavering commitment to location silos, rather than a single CRM with location as nothing more than a filter for permissions) + there is no independent softphone pop-up... you have to actually be looking at the one tab where you are logged in to see the visual pop-up. That design would work for maybe one out of a million users. In addition, calls are failing due to reputation scores (weird), and failing due to "an application error has occurred." and there is no campaign related voicemail setup, and phone settings are separated across four VERY different locations. Operating and setting up things like an IVR, or a voicemail is incredibly unfamiliar if a client is coming from any other phone system... thereby making it as far from being intuitive as any phone system on planet earth. Yes... GHL needs to either be serious about LeadConnector, or stop developing it, so that competitors will be more inclined to develop connections. GHL is in a tough spot on this one.

I am a MASTER AGENT and FSP with GoToConnect and GoTo. If you need contacts there in Strategic Partnerships and Engineering, PLEASE let me know. I would LOVE to see a direct integration with GoToConnect on phone and SMS, it would make your lives so much easier! And more profit!

I have been wanting this since 2018. Back then I paid Vonage. Now I pay GoToConnect. Either way, when I make bulk outbound calls, I want to do it from the phone system that I am already paying for.
Please please please GoHighLevel...make this possible.
EDIT:
To be even more specific, when I press the green phone icon, I wish the call was being made through my integrated phone system (GoToConnect), not a random Twilio number. And when the call happens, it should automatically show up in the contact's history just like other communications.
WHY?
I am already paying GoToConnect for unlimited calls per user. So why would I ever pay Twilio for each call each minute each way on top of that?
Same goes for SMS campaigns.

Is there any update on RingCentral API plugin? I am about to develop it if not.
