GoHighLevel is a powerful CRM, but it currently lacks a built-in feature to track relationships between contacts. Many businesses rely on referrals, partnerships, and multi-contact relationships that are critical for sales, marketing, and customer management. Adding a Contact Relationship Linking Feature would enhance user efficiency by enabling businesses to easily track and manage relationships between different contacts within the CRM.
Proposed Functionality
- Parent-Child Contact Linking
* Allow users to associate contacts with other contacts (e.g., “Referred By,” “Introduced By,” “Partnered With,” etc.).
* Enable a "Referrals" tab within a contact’s profile to display all linked contacts.
* Support multiple relationship types (e.g., Client → Referral, Employer → Employee, Parent → Child).
- Customizable Relationship Labels
* Users can define custom relationship labels (e.g., Referrer, Business Partner, Team Member, Family Member).
* Relationship labels should be searchable and filterable.
- Automated Referral Tracking
* When a contact refers another, automatically log that referral within their profile.
* Option to trigger an automation (e.g., "Notify John when one of his referrals books a call").
* Ability to track how many referrals a person has generated.
- Reporting & Smart Lists
* Add a "Referred By" filter to segment contacts by who referred them.
* Provide referral-based reporting to track top referrers and total referrals.
- Pipeline Integration
* Link referrers within the Opportunity pipeline for better tracking.
* Allow users to assign referral sources to leads directly in a deal stage.
- API & Workflow Compatibility
* Enable API support for linking contacts programmatically.
* Allow workflow actions to automatically associate contacts based on form submissions or imported data.
