Merging records with multiple Emails and/or phone numbers

When merging records, the email address(es) and phone number(s) on the "secondary" records should be added to the merged record as "Additional Email address(es)" and "Additional Phone Number(s)" and not simply discarded.

Many contacts have multiple email addresses and it would be nice not to have to throw one out when merging the duplicates in case they use it again. It'd be nice is we can mark one as the preferred email while the other is more of a backup. Same for phone numbers.

We NEED to be able to save all data when merging contacts! Otherwise we're not really merging, we're just overwriting!

there's no other option.
conversation history, emails sent back and forth, all do not seem to merge well (losing data, probably due to deleting emails and phone numbers.
This is crucial.

Agreed. This is very important. We cannot Merge properly if it means losing the additional phone numbers and emails, and resort to manual adding these afterwards.

yes please, i'm having to copy the additional phones or emails on a notepad to add them back after merging the contacts
