I’ve noticed an issue with how contact names display in the Smart Lists view. When a contact has post-nominal letters (e.g., “N.D.”, “III”, “PMP”) in their name, the capitalization is inconsistent. In Smart Lists, only the first letter shows as capitalized, while the rest appear lowercase.
Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Create or edit a contact to include post-nominals in the Name field (e.g., “John Smith, PMP” or “James Brown III”).
  2. View that contact in the Smart Lists view.
  3. Notice that the post-nominals are not displayed exactly as entered; only the first character is shown in uppercase.
Expected Behavior:
The Smart Lists view should display the contact’s name exactly as entered in the contact record (including post-nominals and capitalization).
Actual Behavior:
The Smart List view automatically adjusts capitalization, which causes post-nominals to appear incorrectly (e.g., “Pmp” instead of “PMP”).
Why It Matters:
Users may rely on professional designations (PMP, CPA, N.D., etc.) or suffixes (III, Jr., Sr.) when identifying contacts.
Having to open the contact record to verify correct formatting slows down workflows and can cause confusion.
Display consistency between contact records and Smart Lists ensures accuracy and professionalism when managing contacts.
Request:
Please fix this so that Smart Lists display contact names exactly as entered in the contact record fields.
