I'd like to have the option to be notified when a post is made by every community member or just when I am @mentioned.

Community Chat Notification

The Community Chat feature should notify the chat recipient by email when someone starts a new chat with them or responds to the chat. There also should be a setting where each community member can configure how and how frequently they want to receive notifications about community activity.

In addition to ability to set notification preferences by community, I’d like to see a “new content” bubble on the communities switcher list so I don’t have to jump into a place with nothing new…
In the second image, compare time of day on the screenshot with when the notifications were pushed. Some of these are saying just a few minutes ago when the event happened hours ago.

ABSOLUTELY SO IMPORTANT !!! How can you run a community app when you are not notified that someone has posted when you are the admin or owner

We’ve just confirmed this limitation while implementing a paid membership community inside the branded app.
Community chat currently has no reliable notification mechanism outside of being inside the app at the time of the message.
From an operational standpoint, this creates three problems:
• Members miss important replies
• Support teams cannot guarantee response times
• Community chat adoption drops quickly
For paid programs, chat without configurable notifications (push, email, optional SMS) significantly reduces usability and perceived professionalism.
At minimum, this should include:
• In-app push notifications
• Email notifications
• User-level notification preferences
Strongly supporting this feature.

Direct messages notify correctly. Community posts and announcements do not.
From an operator perspective, this is not just an engagement issue. It directly impacts:
• Member retention
• Perceived program value
• Moderator responsiveness
• Platform competitiveness versus Skool, Circle and others
For paid communities, push notifications for new posts and announcement-level content are foundational infrastructure, not an enhancement.
Strongly supporting this feature.

It's wild that this basic feature is overlooked and overdue by more than a year

absolutely- we need an email notification when we receive a message otherwise no one will see their chats

I agree with this, especially as a moderator, I would like to be notified when there is a post in the community. Unfortunately, people forget to @mention the moderator, and sometimes there are more than one moderator.

How is this not part of the features for Community chat yet? This is like an absolute no brainer feature and must be added for the communities to even use chat. I have a team of people and we have tested the chat and it is about as close to useless in it's current form. Can you please add some sort of Email and SMS notices (as well as in app push notices) for when a new chat is started or there is a new message. I just cannot imagine a world where this chat was added with no notices. Are people suppose to check their community chat everyday for a new message?
Please add this ASAP.

More important than the email notification is the in app red dot!
