Community: Do Not Require Profile Photos

Let the admin of each individual community decide the requirements for profiles such as profile photos, bio, etc. I have people that don't want to use the community because of this feature. Some are not tech savvy and can't get the right type of photo uploaded from their phone either.

Shivani Gera awesome. Profile photos should be optional.

Turn off membership photo requirement

We should be able to turn off the requirement for new members in a community group to provide a picture and bio, or at the very least edit the text there. We're trying to use it as an individual portal for investors, and the fact that they have to add a picture makes no sense for what we're doing, and may even be detrimental to our aims since it's providing a private portal.
Should be a simple toggle in the group settings, similar to membership questions.

This is a community, so better with photo

SHORT-TERM FIX:
This is very annoying & GHL should absolutely fix this.
BUT in the meantime I created a work-around that might help some people.
Here is the code to put in your Tracking Footer:
Attached is also a screenshot of exactly what it looks like.
What it does: when the popup loads, there is a button that says "autofill with default picture" if clicked, the default image is uploaded into the uploader and the user can click "Complete"
IMPORTANT: you'll need to change the "var DEFAULT_IMAGE_URL =" URL to whatever you'd like as a default image.

Daniel Shakibaie Where specifically did you put this? I went to Branding -> Advanced -> Footer Code... but it's not working. Does it need to go somewhere else instead?
D

Jacques Hopkins this is in membership - client portal - settings - branding - advanced - footer code.
Make sure its not cached. I've noticed they have serverside caching too ( you can't clear that, just add in the code then wait 5 mins or so). But also clear local cache.

Jacques Hopkins Also remove extra
"``` --- ## 🎯 What This Does: 1.
Modal appears
with profile upload screen 2.Button shows
: "Autofill with default picture" 3. User clicks button
4.Script auto-fills
the image 5. Script auto-clicks
"COMPLETE" 6. **Cropscreen appears
7.
Script auto-clicks "Save" 8.
User is logged in** -completely done! --- ## 📋 User Experience: ``` User sees modal ↓ User clicks
"Autofill with default picture" ↓ Button changes to "✅ Uploading and
submitting..." ↓ Everything happens automatically ↓ User is logged in!"
This was added by chatgpt and does nothing

Daniel Shakibaie I got it working. HUGE thanks for this!

Agree with the poster. Too few settings to truly make the community what it should be -- not require photo upload.

This should be up to the admin, there is zero valid reason not to let the admin decide, This will be a deal killer for many.

Yes, give admin the choice to ask or not ask the photo

It is completely ridicilous that GHL require a pic. AND to change it is literally one line of code: Either make the pic optional on the backend, and if not doable, then send a dummy / placeholder pic if user leaves it empty.
WHY on earth create friction for users to access your content. Baffles me no one thought of this.

Would also be way cool to be able to simply list an avatar name - a nickname rather than your actual personal name. Communities benefit a lot from anonymity for engagement's sake.
