Till now, we had the ability to edit only the budget of a live campaign but with this enhancement, users will be able to edit multiple details enlisted below. Editing live campaigns allows users to respond dynamically to real-time performance data, market conditions, and business needs, ensuring the campaign remains relevant and effective throughout its duration.
👀 What’s New?
- We've introduced the capability to edit an ongoing/live campaign or the campaigns which are in the 'In Review' state.
- Below is the list of campaign details that can be edited:
- Campaign Name
- CTA Button: Change or update the call-to-action button.
- Lead Generation Form: If the objective is Lead Generation, you can switch to another form or create a new one.
- Website: Alter the website URL if the objective is Website Traffic.
- Special Ad Category: Add or change the category if needed.
- Placements: Update where your ads are displayed.
- Ad Text and Media: Revise the content and visuals of your ad.
- Budget: Adjust the amount allocated for the campaign.
- Geographic Location: Modify the targeted locations.
- Target Audience: Change interests, lookalike, or retargeting audience parameters.
- Below is the list of campaign details that cannot be edited:
- Objective of a campaign
- The Facebook page selected to publish this ad campaign
- Start date of a campaign
- Any time a change is made to a live campaign, a tag will be shown on top right of the campaign builder screen, "Unpublished changes".
👷 How It Works:
- On the Ad Manager home screen, user clicks on Edit for the published campaign they want to make changes.
- The campaign builder screen opens up and the fields mentioned above can be altered.
- As soon as any change is made to the campaign, an "Unpublished changes" tag on top right of the screen is shown.
- Once all the changes are made to the campaign:
- User can choose to either discard all the changes by clicking on the 'Back' button at top left and confirming the same on the prompt shown OR
- Choose to publish the changes made, which will show a confirmation dialog.
- Once they publish the campaign with the changes, it will go to Facebook for a review and publish after a successful review.
- If there are errors and the campaign fails due to the edits made, campaign status will be 'Failed' with the failure reason shown next to the status.
📝Notes:
- The budget amount can be altered but changing it from Daily to Lifetime or vice versa for an active campaign is not allowed.
