There is no point on having the custom object feature if we can't import a csv file. Please help!

I'm using the custom data importer for this

Truly shocked that this is not a thing. I literally assumed it would be and was working under that assumption just to have the run pulled out from underneath me!

Benjamin Clements yeah, for now there's only the workaround with the Custom Data Importer app

Can't believe this is not a thing

Richard Hickman the custom data importer in the app marketplace can do this.

Without a native bulk importer tool, this really eliminates the majority of use cases for the Objects feature. This is a necessity to be able to use Objects for most businesses. I don't normally comment on these things but it seems obvious that this is much needed by many more people than just myself and I'm hopeful that by commenting, it will speed up the timetable on this getting done.

Needed yesterday! And echoing Jenni Wallace's comment. We need to be able to associate to Opportunities and Contact (and/or other objects) on a bulk basis too.

Harrison Bingham the custom data importer app can do this with associations (actually, record to record is called 'relations', associations are the schematic object to object connection)

I want to strongly echo this request and add some real-world context from an actual implementation.
Custom Objects are powerful, but without a native bulk CSV importer for custom object records, they are not realistically usable for many businesses.
There is no supported way to import existing records into a Custom Object (e.g. Insurance Policies, Assets, Subscriptions, Licenses, Equipment, Properties, etc.) while mapping Custom Object fields AND associations to standard objects like Contacts or Companies
The existing “Contacts / Opportunities” importer does not support Custom Objects, and the Custom Object editor itself has no import option. This forces me to manually create a record (not feasible at all when you're looking at 1000+ records)
Here's a real case situation:
An insurance agency migrating into HighLevel may have:
- 5,000 contacts
- 12,000 insurance policies
Each contact may have multiple policies (one-to-many relationship).
This is not an edge case — this is a core CRM use case.
Custom Objects unlock advanced vertical CRMs (insurance, real estate, equipment rental, healthcare, education, SaaS, memberships, etc.).
Without bulk import, agencies cannot migrate clients at scale, which directly limits adoption of Custom Objects across the platform.
This feature is foundational, not “nice to have”.
I strongly encourage the team to prioritize native bulk import for Custom Object records with association mapping. It would immediately unlock Custom Objects for real production use.
Happy to provide additional use cases or test this feature if needed.

The app "Import Custom Fields" allows you to automate the creation of the object fields. It works just fine not too fancy but gets the job done.

I have just built this as a Marketplace App. However, know that GHL only allows up to 3 Custom Objects. However, the Custom Object Importer tool will also allow you to bulk upload the Custom Fields for those Custom Objects AND upload, update or export RECORDS for those custom objects, even create Relationships between two objects. And bulk upload or update Custom Values too.

Very excited to learn of Custom Objects in GHL...and then it doesn't have a bulk loader. We get data from corporate and I do NOT wish to enter thousands of records manually. We want to take advantage of GHL's communication features and CSV uploading is a standard.
Can anyone recommend third-party bulk loaders? Thanx.

Robert Suen not sure if you're still looking, but the custom data importer is live and can handle this use case.
