Just new here, I was looking a way to do that and surprised it did not have, any updates when it is being added?

better to update contact or opportunity owner with somthing like {{opportunity.assignto}} or round robin in any user team / group, instead of fix selection of one user specificly. That more flexible when have several sale person in team.

This is a bit insane that it hasn't been done yet. Just need to add an opportunity owner field into the opportunity action and triggers in workflows.

There are LOADS of use cases for having an opportunity owner be different than the contact owner. For example, HVAC company that has outgoing emails, SMS, etc. coming from someone in operations, but the opportunity needs to be assigned to the tech for tracking of jobs.

Adding this inside the workflow makes it very easy for us to keep the opportunity records up to date as well as ensuring that the right person sees the statuses they need to see.

is it going to be available soon? need to have this feature also in workflow
