Selecting SMS Phone Number in Workflow
complete
C
Christopher Sandel
Currently, you can select the name and email for the emails within the workflow, I think it would be ideal if you can select what number you want to have the automations go out as well. This way if you are working with clients that have locations with different area codes, we can provide the automation to fit that specific local area. Or even an additional option with the SMS action within the workflow.
Some clients prefer to have one subaccount with multiple pipelines instead of being in and out of multiple subaccounts.

This is marked as complete BUT... when you go to manually send a contact an SMS after sending an automated SMS from a specific number, instead of sending from the number that the automation texted them from it sends from the default number...
This makes NO SENSE, as previously the first SMS you send to someone it locks that number in for all future SMS, unless you delete the conversation and resend an SMS...
Now it still sends manual SMS from the default number on file even after you've used this new automation feature to send an SMS from a specific number! WHY?!
You guys were so close to actually fixing the issue behind why this feature was requested.... 😵💫

Alicia Stanhope not only that but there should be an option to choose numbers for each sms action rather than a single number for a complete workflow
J
Jay Martin
Alicia Stanhope Well they only built it for workflows, not to continue to send with different SMS for 1-1 conversations. Gonna need a new idea and to get this one all the votes.....unless Prasoon Dadhich could somehow please do this as well for the community

Prasoon Dadhich
Alicia Stanhope: Can you please check this again. We have fixed the issue. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Eddie Jackson: Yes that is part of Phase 2

Prasoon Dadhich, THANK YOU!

Prasoon Dadhich how can this become in progress without having DND of SMS on a per phone basis vs the entire “channel” i.e the whole contact. What if one phone number of the client is stop, unsubscribe or a landline and you want to switch it over to their other phone. Should we not have that first before you start selecting which phone number of the contacts you can send messages too be it phone 2, phone, 3 up to phone 10 and if one of those numbers is dnd on sms that it moves to the next available one. Vs the entire contact being dnd on sms channel. Would love to have this but it seems a little cart before the horse ?

Prasoon Dadhich
Jay Martin This will be a different feature. In this users will be able to select from which number they want the message to be sent. The user can select the number from the dropdown that will be made available in the Builder Settings

Prasoon Dadhich Will we also be able to select which number we want an SMS be sent out from in Automations - i.e. select a specific number to send the automated SMS depending on what workflow they are in?
E
Edward Besherse
Jay Martin, for your application you might be in a cart-vs-horse position. But dynamic redirect from an opt out phone to a different phone is not the function of this feature. This feature is about load balancing multiple phones for outbound messages. It is about using the support line for communication with customers and the main line for communication with leads. Until now all outbound SMS were from the default # only. The support line stayed silent.
J
Jay Martin
Edward Besherse Yeah I realized this from Prasoon's response. Makes sense why this rolled out first. It's a fantastic feature and look forward to it being rolled out. Hopefully we will one day get the individual SMS opt out and DND fingers crossed haha

Jay Martin, this isn’t the idea you are describing: https://ideas.gohighlevel.com/conversations/p/expanded-dnd
Do you know of an active suggestion for your function?
J
Jay Martin
Edward Besherse I didn't create an active idea for my idea in particular. I should do that. My idea is in Merge contacts as ultimately it would be needed for the Merge feature, again I guess they dont see it that way. https://ideas.gohighlevel.com/contacts/p/find-all-duplicate-contacts-and-then-merge
J
Jay Martin
Edward Besherse Created its own separate idea https://ideas.gohighlevel.com/lcphonesystem/p/dnd-on-a-per-phone-and-per-email-basis-to-solve-both-a2p-and-merge-contacts

Prasoon Dadhich Any ETA on this? I have clients in multiple countries and not having this feature makes it impossible to setup automated workflows.

In addition to this:
A secondary number should be a standard field for a contact - currently you cant add 2 numbers into forms unless you create a custom field.
This means you then have to manually update a contact number
e.g.
landline

This NEEDS to be an option, especialy since they don't have the logic set up to text/call from the relevant number on file for the contacts number you're texting/calling... it would be nice if the system could automatically detect I'm trying to text/call a +1 and use my number on file that matches that country code...
J
Jay Martin
Alicia Stanhope Pallavi Kothari From the merge contacts into this post the solution I came up with works for both. You can then choose which phone number you want to text/call do automations with. If the phone number has DND for SMS on you can have it auto utilize the next additional phone etc.
A
Alicia Stanhope
Jay Martin What is the solution?
J
Jay Martin
Alicia Stanhope They have to build out the DND features on a per phone call and then per phone SMS basis. This way you can then do automations based on phone 1, phone 2, phone 3 etc. and do number matching when sending out SMS/Calls through automations. Which means they need to build out the DND features to comply with A2P regulations. If you can go reply in this post I have a full explanation in there on how it could be built out. https://ideas.gohighlevel.com/contacts/p/find-all-duplicate-contacts-and-then-merge
