Keith Besherse, Shaun Clark misrepresented what inbound DND does. Perhaps it was a mistake, perhaps he doesn't actually understand the reality of the flag, or perhaps he was trying to mislead. I don't think he was trying to mislead but he is wrong. Inbound DND does not affect email.
I've had conversations with the dev team and they've confirmed this for, even after weeks of gaslighting trying to insist that it was otherwise. You can test this for yourself. Inbound DND does not block inbound email. Period.
In fact if you look at any contact, there is no option to block inbound email. The only inbound option is "Inbound Calls and SMS."
If we want to give him the benefit of the doubt, we can assume that what he probably meant to say was "the inbound DND filter in workflows applies to all channels that inbound DND flag applies to."
There is an oddity: If you "DND All channels" it filters inbound emails in the desktop app but not the mobile app.

Jordan Wheeler, thank you. I agree. I do not assume that Shaun Clark intended to mislead. That is why I have insisted on getting a definitive test. I assume he misspoke. I also assume the developers intended well when they wrote the UI; but the way it is now creates a false expectation. Even the message you were sent on 30 Jan implies something that isn't accurate (DND outbound email doesn't affect inbound email in any way). I often get scammers and link builders filling my forms. I want an automation in workflow so that when i tag a new contact as "scam" it turns on INBOUND DND so they can't email call or SMS me anymore. I'd love to be able to delete the contact as well but still have the system know it should not create records if someone fills a form with those contact details. Further, if there is a way to avoid using zapier or similar but have it so when i label an email notification in my gamil as "scam" it does same in GHL kicking off what I poisted above.

We need a way to mark inbound EMAILS DND. I essentially would like to be able to block and/or mark inbound emails from contacts as spam manually from the contact record as well as via a workflow
