GHL has AI features spread across the platform — Ask AI, Conversation AI, Content AI, Workflow AI actions, Reviews AI, and more. Some of these are free, some cost credits, and some bill per usage. But there's no visible indicator on any of them that tells you which is which. You have to just know, or go dig through help docs and pricing pages to figure out if something is going to cost you before you use it.
This creates real friction, especially for newer users or agency clients who are exploring AI features for the first time. They either avoid using things because they're unsure if it'll cost them, or they use something without realizing it's billing credits and get surprised later.
A simple usage indicator built into the UI of each AI feature would solve this entirely:
• For free features (like Ask AI during the Labs period): Show a small badge or label like "Free" or "Included" with the daily or monthly usage limit if one exists (e.g., "Free — 50 messages/day")
• For credit-based features: Show the credit cost per use and a running total of credits consumed in the current session or billing cycle (e.g., "1.5 credits/message — 34 credits used today")
• For metered/paid features: Show estimated cost per action and a link to the usage dashboard
The indicator doesn't need to be intrusive — a small pill or icon in the corner of the AI interface is enough. Just enough so the user can glance at it and immediately know where they stand without leaving the tool.
This would make the AI features significantly more approachable and transparent, especially as GHL continues rolling out more AI tools across the platform.
