I strongly support this request. Internal comments are extremely useful inside the Conversations view, but without proper API access, they are limited to manual UI usage.
For agencies, developers, AI assistants, and support teams, it would be very helpful to create internal comments directly inside a conversation thread through the API. Contact-level notes are helpful, but they are not the same as a private internal comment inside the actual conversation where the team is working.
This would allow external tools, automations, and AI workflows to post important team-only updates such as call summaries, lead qualification notes, escalation notes, billing issues, or next-step recommendations directly into the conversation thread.
Ideally, the API should allow creating, retrieving, and managing internal comments while keeping them private/internal only and respecting user permissions.
This would make the Conversations API much more useful for real team collaboration and automation.

Need this - want a trigger for internal comments as well.
Could send an SMS to someone if they get tagged or an email off of it.
Or I could simply do a workaround for marking them read if people do it on their own contacts and its not supposed to create a new unread conversation so now I gotta mark them read through an automation lol
