Feature Request: Custom Date Reminder Trigger for Opportunities

I would like to request the ability to use the "Custom Date Reminder" workflow trigger with custom date fields on the Opportunity object (not just Contacts). This would allow us to automate reminders and actions based on important dates stored in Opportunity custom fields, such as license renewal or cancellation deadlines.
Why this is important:
Many business processes track key dates at the Opportunity level.
Currently, the Custom Date Reminder trigger only works for Contact custom date fields, limiting automation options.
Adding this feature would enable more flexible and powerful workflow automations for sales and operations teams.
Example use case:
Send reminder emails to customers 30 and 7 days before a license cancellation deadline stored in an Opportunity custom date field.

My client has added Target Close Date and other Due Dates related to an Opportunity to the Opportunity Record. Adding the custom date field is possible, but using the Opportunity Custom Date Field as a Trigger is not possible.
This means that we cannot trigger date based actions like tasks, internal communications, or emails.
Enterprise sales require date based triggers on opportunities to manage RFPs and other enterprise sales activities.
Government Sales also have a lot of date based activities, which would benefit from this.

This is exactly what I have been trying to accomplish/test for insurance agency. Has this been updated? From I can tell it is not a possibility yet.

Definitely Fundamental! Think of an Insurance Agency that has different Business Opportunities for each client. How is he doing today? You must move the “Expiry Date” data from the Opportunity to the contact to make an automated reminder system work... very cumbersome and a potential source of errors.
