Please add a bubble to the note icon (in the Opportunity dashboard) to notify the user there are notes.

This is pretty shocking and unfortunate. We were in the middle of planning a migration to GHL and already had a few features we'd need to work around but this is the point where we turn back. The edit screen for an opportunity even makes you feel like the note will be exclusive to that object, but I just went in and verified it's just a collective stream of notes for the contact overall. This is completely process breaking for collaborative sales teams where contacts will often have multiple opportunities in the mix.

Yes, when we have clients who have multiple different projects for us it is not useful to have the notes save to the contact and be duplicated across each oppportunity! I vote for this fix!
I think there should be a "Contact" notes section that can house things about the contact as a whole, but then also Opportunity-specific notes.

this is really important when you have clients that buy multiple services or products and you may have different teams working on different opportunities. Pipedrive did this but like the guy said below it important the implementation is handed correctly

Steve Gubb: Hey Steve, great comment. I'd be really curious as to how Pipedrive solved it without causing users to be confused about where to put their notes? Do Pipedrive users not get confused about whether to put the notes in the contacts / deals / accounts, and how to find them afterwards?

Yusuf Young: Hi, Yusef. When working with a contact in Pipedrive, you can apply a generic note to their contact details. Pulling up one of their opportunities also allows you to add specific notes. You won't see the generic notes for that contact. If you move back to the contact, you will see both notes, the generic and the opportunity, but the opportunity notes will have a @mention (opportunity name ), and you can click this, and it takes you to the said opportunity. works well

Please be very careful when developing this! It can cause massive user confusion.
We come from a system where the user was able to put their notes in either the contact, account or opportunity. They frequently complained that they didn't know where to put it, and it caused massive training needs and support issues, notes were put in places where they were later not found etc.
When we went to GHL, it was a massive relief! They put the note in either contact or opp, and can see it in both places! This reduced our support questions from sales users by around 30%!
So please, be super careful so as to avoid the need to "think" about where to put your notes. While the option to put your note in multiple places can be good for power users, if not done correctly, it will create a lot more support from non-power users (which is like 95% of the general user base).

Yusuf Young I think the compromise here would be to also add a "historical notes" feed. We've done some custom implementations in Airtable in which all ops and clients have their own notes, but you can open up a feed that collates everything attached to that client in a historical feed.

Need to have automation support note filters with logic Note "CONTAINS"

Also, be able to tie multiple contacts to a single opportunity and within the Op, show all of the collective notes from all of the attached contacts, right in one place.

Michael Romrell: I need this too! Part of why I’m hesitant is not having multiple contacts within one project/opportunity. Ex. Marketing manager and CEO in a project

100% needed.. Clients coming over from other CRM's like Pipedrive are able to keep notes independent on a deal or opportunity and not have them follow to a new opportunity when its created under the same contact days or weeks or years later.. Deals/opportunities need to be kept separated but easily accessed to reference past notes.. WE NEED THIS BIG TIME!

10000% needed. We have numerous opportunities from the same contact. keeping all notes for every opportunity in the same place is so chaotic. please look into this
