Ability to Separate Opportunity Ownership from Contact Assigned User!

In my real estate company, when a team member closes a deal with a real estate agent, that deal (opportunity) is assigned to the team member who closed it. However, if another team member later takes over managing that real estate agent as a contact and closes a different deal, the CRM system automatically reassigns the ownership of the previous opportunity to the new team member. This is problematic because it inaccurately reflects who originally closed each deal. As a result, the reporting in the CRM shows that the current contact owner (the second team member) closed both deals, which is not the case. This misrepresentation in the CRM's reporting makes it difficult to accurately track individual team members' performance and the actual history of interactions with each real estate agent. I'm looking to allow opportunities to retain their original owner, even if the contact's assigned team member changes, to ensure accurate reporting and recognition of each team member's achievements.

There should be a way to have a separate opportunity owner for duplicate opportunities.

The ability to create multiple opportunities, for instances where a lead may have multiple large ticket items that they have separate opportunities for, is important. However, it's also important that there be a way to assign a separate opportunity owner for those OPP's. I know you can add followers, but that's not the same thing. Clients need a way to manage multiple opportunities that may be spread between different lead owners. Adding an Opportunity Owner field would be HUGE. As it stands now, if you update the Opportunity owner on one Opp, it changes the contact owner, as well as all the other opportunity owners connected to that contact.

Thanks for the feedback. We have launched the feature to desync the opportunity and contact owner. This feature is currently in Labs - would be super helpful if you can take a look and share your feedback with us regarding the same
Thanks!

Pallavi Kothari Yes you all desynced the opportunity cards and the contact user however you did not create the possibility to assign a user to an opportunity through an automation/workflow.. so this change was useless

Pallavi Kothari we're having this problem still; When an existing opportunity is owned by one team-member, and another opportunity is created owned by another team-member, the ownership on the original opportunity is changed to the new opportunity owner.
Looks like you launched this fix in March into Labs... and it's end of May but I don't see it in Labs... so perhaps it's graduated to full implementation? If yes... where is the setting to solve this?

Hi David Donhoff
you can find this as a setting under Settings> Opportunities and Pipelines > Opportunities
You can set up whether you would like to set up ownership and followers based on your needs.

I agree with this change. I am in financial services and we face the same problem. In addition to the above, I would like if workflow automation's (texts/emails) to be sent by multiple assignees? For example, a financial advisor might send some automated emails to a client as well as an administrator. This would be a huge addition to the system if it was introduced.
