"Combine Downpayment/Deposit with Recurring Invoice Schedule (Different Payment Methods)"
G
Guy Mayer
Enable the creation of an invoice schedule starting with a one-time payment (deposit) through one payment method (e.g., Credit Card), followed by recurring payments using a different method (e.g., Direct Debit). This is essential for service businesses that require deposits at the time of booking.

Deposit + full or instalment options for travel businesses

I've just tried so many different ways to create a payment option the way I want but there's nothing currently in-built that allows what I'm after. The closest I can get to is the two step order form but it doesn't allow me to create a drop down option.
For example, we have an upcoming trip
There is a cost for one child plus one adult
There are two options 1) 5 nights or 2) 9 nights
For each option there are two types of payment 1) full payment 2) deposit + instalments over a number of months
Then there is a cost to add an additional person with all the above options
The only way I can currently automate this is to have all 8 options showcasing as products in the two step order form.
This looks messy
And confusing because they can checkbox as many times where actually I just need two products with drop down feature and the ability to choose multiples for the second product.
I've looked at the online store option but that doesn't allow recurring payments
I've looked at payment links but I can't add multiple products
Invoices is the only other solution but it's manual which I'm trying to get away from! Plus I believe it will send a recurring invoice rather than take it easy recurring payment?
There's so many limitations to payment options for travel 😕

Hybrid Subscription Payments (Card Upfront + Direct Debit Ongoing)
J
James Bayley
In the UK (especially for gyms and membership businesses), it’s standard to:
• Take a joining fee + first month (or pro-rata) immediately via card
• Collect ongoing monthly payments via Direct Debit
• Set both up at the same time during checkout
Currently, GHL requires one payment method for subscriptions.
Feature request:
Allow subscriptions/contracts to support:
- Upfront charges via card (joining fee + first payment)
- Ongoing recurring payments via Direct Debit
- Both payment methods collected and authorised in a single checkout flow
This would make GHL far more suitable for UK gyms and membership businesses and reduce reliance on external billing platforms.
