AI Studio checkouts just got more flexible. Pick exactly which fields buyers fill in, capture leads before they pay with a two-step checkout, and show a full order summary once payment goes through.
Choose your checkout fields
Show, hide or require the phone number and each billing address field (street, city, state, ZIP, country). Name and email are always required.
Try it:
"Make phone required and hide the billing address"
image
Two-step checkout
Capture the lead first and take the payment second, just like the Two Step Order form in Funnels.
  • Step 1
saves the buyer as a CRM contact, so people who don't complete payment are still leads you can follow up with.
  • Step 2
    collects the payment.
Try it:
"Make it a two-step checkout"
image
Heads up:
new leads fire the
Contact Created
trigger, not Order Form Submission. Check that your workflows listen for the right one.
Order details after payment
The confirmation screen now shows the order ID, items, taxes and total paid, plus the next charge for subscriptions. Prefer your own page? Send buyers to a custom thank-you page that displays their real order.

Availability
Projects already using Payments get all of this on their next prompt. No need to reconnect.
Connect a GitHub account to any AI Studio project and keep your code in sync both ways. AI Studio creates a private repository for the project, pushes every version you save, and pulls back every commit made outside it. Work in any editor or coding agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini CLI) and your changes land back in the project with a fresh preview.
What's new
  • Connect GitHub
: In a project, go to More → Git and connect a personal account or an organization. Share it with the whole sub-account or keep it to yourself.
git-entry
add-connection
  • A repository, created for you
: A private repo named after your project is created with the first push already done. Reconnecting a project reuses its previous repo and never force-pushes.
  • Automatic two-way sync
: Every version you save (AI prompts, code edits, visual edits, restores) is pushed to GitHub, and new commits on your connected branch are pulled back automatically. Both can be turned off, and Push now / Pull now are always available.
connected-repo
  • Choose your branch
    : Starts on
    main
. Switch anytime, including to a new branch that gets created on the next push.
  • Fresh preview after a pull
: A new preview builds in the background. When it's ready, click
    Update preview
, so the page never reloads under you. If the build fails, use
    Retry build
    or
    Try to fix
    .
  • Diverged branches
: If GitHub and AI Studio both have new commits, choose
    Force push
    (AI Studio wins) or
    New branch
    (keep both).
  • Sync History
: See total syncs, success rate, the push/pull split and every commit that moved, with a link to it on GitHub. Failures are explained in plain language.
sync-history
  • Safe by default
: Pushes are scanned for secrets (AWS, GitHub, Stripe and OpenAI keys, private keys) and blocked if found. Images, fonts and other binary files are preserved on every sync.
New permission: Manage Git & download code
A new AI Studio permission controls Git access and code downloads. It's
on by default for every role
, so nobody loses access. Agency admins can turn it off per user in
Settings → Team → Permissions → AI Studio
. Users without it won't see the Git tab or Download options, but can still build, edit and preview as usual.
Good to know
  • Works with React (Vite) and TanStack Start projects.
  • Commits made by AI Studio appear as "GHL AI Studio", not your GitHub identity.
  • Only the connected branch is synced.
  • Projects that don't connect GitHub see no change.
You can now add native chat widgets to your AI Studio apps — built and styled by AI Studio to match your site, instead of a generic chat bubble. Just ask AI Studio to "add a live chat", and it builds a real HighLevel chat widget into your app.
Chat widgets in AI Studio run on HighLevel's chat widget, so the conversations, contacts and widget settings are the ones you already use in your HighLevel account. There's nothing extra to set up.
What's New
AI Studio adds the chat for you
  • Ask AI Studio for a chat and it shows a card to create the widget:
    Live Chat
    , or
    Email Chat
for visitors who leave a message and get a reply by email.
  • The widget is created in your account, named after your project, and wired into your app.
  • For a new chat, AI Studio asks a few quick design questions (greeting, placement, tone), then builds it.

Designed to match your site
  • The chat is built into your app's own code, so it uses your site's colors, fonts and layout.
  • Change its look the way you change anything else: ask AI Studio, or edit it in code.
  • A project can have more than one widget — for example, live chat on every page plus a separate after-hours chat.

Live conversation in the chat widget
The real HighLevel chat underneath
  • Built-in security:
Visitor sessions use secure tokens that never touch your app's code, and a captcha appears automatically when the chat suspects a bot.
  • Spam & abuse protection:
Rate limits and your widget's spam settings apply to every message.
  • Attachments:
Visitors can share files in live chat, within the widget's supported file types and size limits.
  • Conversation history:
Returning visitors pick up where they left off, and older messages load as they scroll.
  • Delivery status:
Messages show as sending, sent or failed, and failed messages can be retried.
  • Business rules:
Business hours, out-of-hours messages, inactivity timeouts, chat ratings and chat-ended messages follow your widget settings.
  • Conversations:
Every message lands in HighLevel Conversations, just like the standard widget.

  • Your wording:
AI Studio can set the welcome message and feedback lines when you ask — e.g. "greet visitors with: Hello, how can we help?"
Chat widget analytics
Go to
More → Analytics → Chat Widgets
to see the leads your project's chat widgets bring in.
  • At a glance:
Chat loads, opens, open rate, and visitor feedback and satisfaction from chat ratings.
  • Every lead in one table:
Contact, email, phone, chat type, the page the chat started on, and which widget it came from.
  • Flexible views:
Filter by widget and date range, choose which columns to show, and select leads to download.

☁️ Your AI Studio apps can now have a real backend
You've built a great app in AI Studio, and now it needs to remember things. It needs to know who's signed in and store the photos people upload. Until now, that meant wiring up a backend yourself.
Not anymore.
Open
More → Cloud
and turn it on from
Overview
. In about a minute, HighLevel creates a private backend just for that project, with a
database
,
user accounts
, and
file storage
. There's nothing extra to connect.
  • You can keep building while it sets up.
  • If setup stops, your app is untouched, and
    Try again
picks up where it left off.
  • AI Studio checks with you before it builds anything against Cloud.
🌟
Once Cloud is running, here's what you get:
🗃️ Database: your app's memory

  • See every table, roughly how many rows it holds, and whether row-level security is on.
  • Open a table to add rows, double-click a cell to edit it, or select rows to delete them.
  • Need a new table or policy? Just ask AI Studio in chat and it handles the schema.
  • Slow or costly database?
    Optimize
sends a health check to chat. It uses credits, like any message.
  • Daily Backups
snapshot your schema and rows (not storage files or app code).
  • Restore
replaces the live database with a snapshot. The app pauses its database access for a few minutes while that happens. If the schema no longer matches your code, ask chat to patch it.
👥 Users: the people using your app

📈 Advanced settings: grow at your pace

CleanShot 2026-10-09 at 14
  • Database size
    starts at
    Tiny (free)
. Move up to Mini, Small, Medium, Large, or X-Large, or back down, once an hour. Each size shows its hourly price. A change takes a few minutes and briefly restarts the app.
  • Database storage
can grow, never shrink, up to 4 times a day. You pay hourly for the space you set aside, even when paused.
  • File storage
grows and shrinks with your files, and you pay for what's actually stored.
  • Pause
stops access to your data while keeping it safe.
    Resume
    wakes it.
  • If your wallet can't cover Cloud, it pauses itself. Nothing is deleted, and
    Wake up
returns once billing is fixed. You can still move down to Tiny.
  • Remove Cloud
permanently deletes that project's database, users, and files. Export tables as CSV and download files first. Other projects aren't affected.

✅ Good to know
  • Cloud works with apps built on
    TanStack Start
. For an existing React project, go to
Project Settings → Migrate to SSR
first. That creates an upgraded copy and leaves your original live. Migrating doesn't turn Cloud on.
  • Your published site stays as is until you publish again.
  • Sharing or remixing doesn't copy your Cloud data. The copy can still send requests to the original project's Cloud, following its access rules.
You can now take payments in apps built with AI Studio. Connect the products in your catalog, ask the agent to “add payments”, and your app gets a secure, hosted checkout.
Payments in AI Studio uses HighLevel’s native payments. Your products, orders, payment providers and subscriptions are the ones already set up in your HighLevel account. There’s nothing extra to set up.
What’s new
Payments in a few clicks
  • More → Payments
is a new settings tab. Turn Payments on, switch between test and live mode, and choose which catalog products your app can sell.
  • Choose how each product is priced: one fixed price, a selected set of variations (sizes, tiers, plans), or the product’s full catalog.
  • Only the products and prices you allow can be shown or charged. Your settings decide what buyers can buy.
The agent adds the checkout for you
  • Ask the agent to add payments. It shows a card asking you to approve the connection, then builds a storefront and checkout into your app.
  • The payment code is managed by the platform, so neither you nor the agent can break it by accident. Edits to it are restored on the next turn.
A hosted checkout
  • Card details are entered and processed in the platform’s hosted checkout, never in your app’s code.
  • PayPal express checkout is supported.
  • Coupon codes can be entered at checkout, and a fully discounted order goes through without asking for a card.
  • Subscriptions work in checkout and upsells, including carts with more than one subscription product.
  • Your colours: the checkout picks up your site’s colour scheme instead of a fixed default.
  • Bot protection runs on every purchase.
One-click post-purchase upsells
  • After a successful purchase you can show buyers an offer page. They can accept it with one click, without entering card details again.
  • One-click works with saved cards from Stripe (3D Secure supported), Square, Authorize.net, NMI, Adyen and Mercado Pago. Other payment methods use the regular payment form.
  • An upsell can only be charged after the original order is paid, and only once per order, even with several tabs open.
Product pages
  • Generated storefronts show product listings and detail pages from your catalog, with thumbnails and formatted descriptions.
Availability
  • Payments currently works only with apps built on TanStack Start. Other project types won’t see the option yet.
  • To use Payments in an existing React project, migrate it. Go to
Project Settings → Migrate to SSR
. This makes an upgraded copy of your project and leaves the original unchanged and live. You can also test the new copy before you publish it.

⚠️ Important user permissions changes
  • Sub-account user and admin permissions for AI Studio are now off by default. Access is kept only for sub-account users who already had AI Studio enabled in Labs.
✨ What’s new
  • A Home banner appears when people on your sub-accounts still need AI Studio access.
  • Open Configure, search or select users, then confirm. You can grant access to everyone, or pick specific people.
  • Setup usually finishes in a few minutes. Those users can then open and use AI Studio.
👀 Who sees this banner
  • Agency owners, admins, and agency users with write access.
  • Sub-account users and read-only agency users do not see the banner.

A React project that needs server-rendered pages, server functions, or secrets can now be upgraded from Project Settings. AI Studio makes a second project in the same sub-account and runs the upgrade there. The published project stays as it is, domains included. React projects that don't need the new stack stay on React.
🔍 Problem
SSR, server functions, and secrets shipped for new projects. An existing React site that needs those capabilities had no way to get them. Rebuilding inside the live project would have put the published site and its domains at risk.
📦 What shipped
Migrate to SSR is in Project Settings, marked Advanced. It shows on React/Vite projects when you can edit the project. Projects that are already on TanStack do not get the action, and a React project stays on React until someone runs this.
Confirming creates a new project next to the original, in the same account:
  • Your pages come with it
  • Suggested name: "{project name} (TanStack)". You can change it first
  • The copy is a draft. The live site and its domain stay on the original
  • Earlier versions stay with the original. The copy starts a new chat
CleanShot 2026-09-22 at 15
CleanShot 2026-09-22 at 15
You land in that project and the upgrade starts in chat. On the dashboard the card shows Migrating to SSR until the new project is ready as a TanStack app.
Until then, publish, code save, version restore, domain changes, slug changes, and remix are blocked on the copy. Preview, chat, and delete stay open.
⬇️ How to run it
  • Open the React project that needs the new stack
  • Project Settings → Migrate next to Migrate to SSR
  • Confirm the copy’s name
  • Accept the notes
  • Click Migrate
Watch the chat. It reads the app, rewrites it onto TanStack Start, and the card clears once the new project is a normal SSR project.
If the run stops short, the badge stays. In that project’s chat, “continue the migration” picks up the same copy. Starting Migrate again from the original creates another copy.
⚠️ Before you publish the copy
  • Use it when the project needs server rendering, server functions, or secrets.
  • Charged like a normal build. Agents do the conversion.
  • Walk the new project before publishing. The pass can leave something to fix.
  • Workflow triggers still listen to the original until they are pointed at the new project.
  • The published site and its domains stay where they are. Publishing the copy, or moving a domain, is a separate choice.
  • Walking away from the copy is safe. The original was never edited.
✅ Why this matters
A React project that needs server rendering, a real backend, or secrets can move onto that stack without a rebuild and without a cutover. Projects that don't need it stay on React.
AI Studio just leveled up from “generate a pretty frontend” to build a real full-stack web app. New projects run on TanStack Start: server-rendered pages, real backend (server functions and REST APIs), and a proper secrets vault. Prompt it. Ship it. Watch search engines, social cards, and users all see the same live site.
⚡ The new stack: TanStack Start
New AI Studio projects are born full-stack. Not a static SPA pretending to be a website: a React app with a server, routes, APIs, and a published runtime.
🔍 Native SSR: finally, SEO that actually works
Every page is rendered on the server, on every request. Google, LinkedIn, Slack unfurls: they get real HTML (titles, descriptions, headings, the actual copy). No empty #root. No “enable prerender and hope.” Disable JavaScript and the page is still there. That’s not a tweak. That’s how the web is supposed to work.
🧠 Server functions: backend without the backend headache
Need to load data, talk to an API, or keep logic off the client? AI Studio can write server functions that run on the server and stay there. The browser calls them. It never sees the implementation. Your secret sauce stays secret.
🔌 REST APIs: a real HTTP backend
Need a public API? You can ship REST endpoints too (/api/...): JSON in, JSON out, GET/POST, webhooks, curl. Server functions power the app from the inside. Server routes are the HTTP API the rest of the world can call.
🔐 Secrets: keys that don’t leak into the frontend
Drop API keys and tokens into Secrets. They never land in the client bundle, never get pasted into chat, never show up in View Source. Preview and production both get them. Your app can finally call real services without you shipping credentials to every visitor.
🌐 Build full web apps. For real.
SSR + server functions + REST APIs + secrets is the combo: multi-page sites with unique URLs, server-backed data, public APIs, private integrations, and a publish path that’s a live app, not a static zip. Describe the product. AI Studio builds the stack.
♻️ What about current React projects?
They keep running the same way. Nothing changes for existing Vite/React apps. A migration guide to move them onto the new framework is coming soon.

📝
Summary
The new AI Studio Form Submitted trigger lets you start workflows when visitors submit connected forms on AI Studio websites. This provides a dedicated way to automate follow-up actions for AI Studio leads, such as sending notifications, emails, SMS messages, tags, or creating opportunities.
AI Studio form submissions will continue to work with the existing External Tracking functionality as well.
⚙️
How does it work?
Add theAI Studio Form Submitted trigger to a workflow.
When a visitor submits a connected AI Studio form, the workflow can start automatically.
Add the actions needed to follow up with the contact. The existingExternal Tracking script and trigger will continue to work alongside this new trigger.
📑
Important note
: How existing forms can use this trigger
Forms connected before this trigger was released need to refresh their tracking setup:
  1. Open the AI Studio project.
  2. Ask AI Studio:“Re-trigger form integration.”
  3. Connect the form to CRM tracking again.
  4. Publish the project.
  5. Submit a test form entry.
  6. Refresh the workflow builder and configure the trigger.
